Description:
Hitter is an 11-year-old Off-the-Track Thoroughbred (OTTB) looking for a loving pasture retirement. He retired from racing at 3 years old due to a bowed tendon and has since developed mild stifle arthritis, so he is not sound for riding and is being placed strictly as a companion horse.
Hitter is one of the sweetest horses you’ll meet. He has a kind, gentle personality, loves attention, and is low on the pecking order, making him an easy addition to most herds. He would do best with other kind, non-aggressive horses.
He stands well for the farrier, ties quietly, and is generally easy to handle. He does need a little patience and encouragement when loading into a trailer, but with a calm approach, he gets the job done.
His Jockey Club papers are available, and he is a descendant of the legendary Secretariat, making him a special horse with an impressive pedigree.
Hitter doesn’t owe anyone a thing. He’s simply looking for a safe pasture, good hay, and someone to love him through his retirement. If you’re searching for a kind companion to keep another horse company, Hitter would make a wonderful addition to your farm.
A good home is far more important than price. Please reach out if you think you can offer this sweet boy the retirement he deserves.
