Description:
Dollar Bill is a 15.2 HH, 7-year-old gelding looking for his next chapter. He is % sound, has great ground manners, and is ready for someone with the experience to unlock his potential. He stands great for the farrier and for saddling, takes a bit and reins easily, loads well and is excellent in the pasture with other horses (easy keeper, gets along great with herd mates). He is green-broke and was ridden by his previous owner, but he has spent the last 18–24 months relaxing in the pasture. Because I am a beginner rider, he is simply "too much horse" for me, and he has figured out how to use a bit of stubborn resistance with a novice handler. However, we recently had a professional trainer work him, and she had him moving—the speed, athletic ability, and drive are absolutely there when he’s partnered with someone who knows how to ask!
Because he hasn’t been restarted under saddle yet this year and needs a confident leader, an experienced or advanced-intermediate rider is a must. He has no known bad habits, but his training needs to be refreshed. He can be a little independent to catch in the field, but he happily follows his herd mates right in. Keeping him in a safe, loving home where he will get the time and attention he deserves is my top priority.
